turquoise varnish.

Today i went shopping bright and early in the morning so i could just breeze around the shops. Here is what i wore. I didn't buy much as I'm trying to save my money, but what i did buy were things on my clothes list (i get bored sometimes and start making lists and outfit lists of things i want). I bought a good pair of thick knitted grey tights from H&M. I also bought some jade/ turquoise nail varnish, which i was very happy about finding as the Chanel version is all sold out and i was looking in every make up section for a colour like it, and luckily i found one right at the end of my search. The nail varnish is by a company called 'Hot Looks' it was very cheap and i have found it to be of a good quality too. Now all i have to is stop biting my nails and learn how to apply nail varnish properly!

i first found out about the jade nail varnish, not from the Chanel runway but in fact one of my favourite quirky fashion stars, Alexa Chung, and here she is in all her glory. i never really wear nail varnish, however when i saw this i had to try it out as its my favourite colour.

quick randomness.

As much as i think Anna Wintor is truely inspirational and that she is like the queen of the fashion world, i am going to have to do the opposite of what she has said 'fashion is not about looking back, it's about looking forward' and look back onto what happens when one of my favourite photographers and favourite models team together back in the November 2004 issue of Vogue.

to be adored.

While i was surfing the Internet during my lunch period, i decided not to go outside for fear of flying snowballs, i was on the usual shopping/blogs/photographs sites and i came across a dress on urban outfitters which i absolutely fell in love. i haven't seen a really great dress in a while that makes my heart flutter, you know what its like when you find something that is exactly what you've been looking for; a pastel shade pink/nude, a good shape, however an interesting quirkiness that doesn't just make it like any other dress. And this antique collar silk dress is just that dress.

Its by a company called t.b.a (to be adored) whom i never heard of, however after a bit of research, i find out that the collection is by the designer Binbin McNiven. Her Spring/Summer 2010 collection was inspired by actress Mia Farrow. The collection is subject to silks and breezy numbers, all of which she has added an interesting quirky embellishment to a classic piece. Here are some more of my favourite pieces from the collection:

I just love how they clothes have been captured in the photoshoot, as this type of lighting used really adds to the final look and feel of the photograph. The lighting and style remind me of Arthur Elgort and the less bazaar more beautiful shoots of Grace Coddington. Photos taken from: http://www.ilovetba.co.uk/

new year thoughs.

I keep feeling really bad about this blog, as i want to show and write so many things and i just keep putting it back on my to do list. However i really am going to start trying to post every few days as i think that really is the key to a successful blog. So i might be backtracking on some of the things in the last month that i have done, that i just haven't posted on, or putting my latest thoughts up of spring/summer 10.

So firstly a quick outfit post, which i have been wearing a lot recently during the party month of December, however specifically i wore it to go and see the nutcracker ballet which i completely fell in love with.
I am wearing an Annie Greenabelle dress, with Autograph swing cardigan and Clark's brogues.
(I thought this picture of the ballet was appropriate for the current weather conditions i am experiencing!) http://www.ballet.co.uk/

The whole ballet was utterly inspiring, with the amazing scenery that totally drew you into the performance and left you wondering whether you dreamt the whole thing. The outfits were beautiful which made me want to wear a tutu for the rest of the year, and i think its why i want to wear tulle skirts and pastel shades for the summer. Talking of ballet it reminds of reading about Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel designs for The Dying Swan in Swan Lake.

I wish i had taken up ballet professionally, just to wear this!

lula lula lula.

I recently purchased the latest Autumn/Winter issue of Lula, and I was very lucky as it as it was the last one in borders. Here are some photos of the pages that have really inspired me for my latest Textiles project. As i love the pale pastelley colours and the vintage feel the photos give.

snapshots

Here are just some odd snapshots I took while in London the other week. I didnt take many as I was in abit of a rush. I decided to edit them on adobe photoshop and on the internet site rollip. I liked all the effects I did of the taxi so therefore decided to combine them in a three way photo.

topshop mania.

I recently went into my favourite Topshop store, and as i was by myself, i used the opportunity to try absolutely everything on that caught my eye. Now of course you can only take a maximum of 6 items in, so i went to the upstairs and downstairs changing rooms! This was my favourite outfit out of the bunch, which was; a lace tunic and grey denim jeggings/treggings (i have no idea what they are called) and my own brogues.
